Care of Sidewalks
Village of Franklin Local Law #2 2015 requires property owners to keep their sidewalks free of ice and snow. Walks are to be cleared by 9:00 AM daily. In commercial districts, sidewalks are to be kept free of ice and snow at all times between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If sidewalks are not cleared by the property owner by the above-specified time, notice will be given and removal done by the Village Maintenance Dept. The charge will be no less than $50.00 plus the hourly rate for (2) Village employees.
Note: A copy of this law is available in the Village Office for your inspection. Regular office hours are Thursdays 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, or you may request a copy by leaving a message on the office phone 607-829-6776 or by email clerk@villageoffranklinny.us.
Special Note: Please do not blow snow from your walks into the street after it has been cleaned.
No Overnight Parking
No overnight parking is allowed on any Village of Franklin street, including Main Street (State Rt. 357), between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, November 1 through April 1.
